Just Sayin' (May SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  For National Scrapbooking Month, the SOTM includes several nice tags and journaling prompts to use on your scrapbook layouts.  See all the images in the stamp set in the picture at the bottom of this post.

Instead of creating a scrapbook page, I created a friendly card.  The "smile" sentiment is not a stamp.  It is actually a piece of Washi Tape.  With the Carnival Washi Tape pack, you receive 3 rolls of Washi Tape; 1 roll has 1" labels in 8 different designs, and the other 2 rolls are 1/4" Smoothie and Canary.  The two 1/4" rolls from the Boardwalk kit were also used on this card, they are Pear and Glacier.  Three geometric shapes from the Just Sayin' set were stamped using Smoothie, Pear, and Glacier colors, since those are the colors of the three 1/4" Washi Tapes used.  The 1" wide piece of Washi Tape with "smile" was adhered to a piece of White Daisy cardstock as a base.  Background of the card is a patterned paper from the Blossom kit, and a some Glacier Extra Thick Twine was used to tie a bow across the top of the card.

All That Glitters ~ "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop

This month, those of us participating in the "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop are destashing our glittery stash.  So be prepared for something that shines!

Embossing Is Back (Technique Blog Hop)

For the Technique Blog Hop this month, we are using our embossing powders and showing that Embossing is Back with Close To My Heart.  This is one of several "technique tips" throughout the Annual Inspirations book.   With a stamp set and a color from the CTMH collection of embossing powders, you can create intricate detail on all your projects.

Embossing is one of my favorite stamping techniques and I always love seeing the nice, shiny texture it produces.  This sweet bird from the Paper Bird stamp set was embossed using our White embossing powder onto a piece of patterned paper from the Taste of Summer kit.  The flowered paper is also from the National Scrapbooking Month special Taste of Summer packet which will be available beginning May 1.  Inspiration for the design of the card was the Heart 2 Heart Challenge Sketch 201504.

Blossom

Welcome to our Seasonal Expressions Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  On April 1, Close To My Heart released their Seasonal Expressions 2 booklet as a supplement to their Annual Inspirations catalog.  Seasonal Expressions contains two new paper kits, many new stamp sets, and some great new embellishments.

This adorable popsicle card was created using the stamp set and papers from the Blossom Cardmaking kit along with Cashmere cardstock.  A bit of Glacier twine was added along with some Coral Reef Sequins to complete the card which is based on Pattern #25 in Make It From Your Heart Volume 2.    

And a little decoration on the inside of the card too.

Happy Easter

Wishing you a Happy Easter!  For this card, an image from Banner Wishes was embossed using Crystal Blue pigment ink and then cut out from White Daisy cardstock.  The Easter sentiment is from the Just To Say stamp set which is included with the Artbooking Cricut collection.  Both sides of the Crystal Blue Paper Fundamentals paper were used along with some pink Shimmer Trim.
