An Ariana Patchwork

Found a new challenge blog, Sunday Stamps, and used their sketch (SSC70) as inspiration for a floral card.

Since the sketch includes several pieces as a sort of patchwork, I decided to use some pretty patterned paper from the Ariana pack.  The cross-stitch sentiment is in the new Stitch Wonder stamp set.  A bit of Neutral Metallic Baker's Twine and a few Grey Epoxy Bubbles complete the simple card.

Sunday Stamps blog alternates between sketches and color challenges, and I look forward to seeing what their next challenge will be.

Create & Share ~ Paper Flowers

Completed the fourth lesson in the Create & Share Cardmaking workshop offered at Big Picture Classes.  The challenge for this week is to create "thinking of you" or sympathy cards.  In this lesson, we also learned how to create flowers using paper scraps.

For this card, the sentiment is from the 4 My Friend stamp set and the papers are in the Huntington kit.  Hearts were cut using the Artiste cartridge.  There are two of each heart; one is flat on the card and the other was folded in half before attaching so that there is a bit of dimension.  The 'straight stitch' image is from the Stitch Wonder stamp set.  It was used in the center of the hearts, and then placed on the clear block with a slight curve to create the flower stem.

Love the color combo of this card using papers from the Laughing Lola kit.  The flower petals were created using a 2" scallop circle punch.  Each circle was folded into fourths and then adhered to the card, giving the flower some dimension.  A two-part sentiment from the Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set was used with the "coming your way" finishing line on the inside of the card.  Normally I do not like 'naked' buttons and always thread some twine through the holes or cover with a Sparkle, but this button looked best just plain.

Used papers from the Laughing Lola kit again for this card.  D'vine Swirl embossing folder was used to add texture to the bottom of the card and two bird images were cut using the Artiste cartridge and then layered on the card.  This sentiment is also included in the Card Chatter-Sympathy stamp set.

Autumn/Winter 2013 New Product Blog Hop

The new Autumn/Winter 2013 Idea Book from Close to My Heart is officially released today, August 1.   In order to introduce the new products, a select group of CTMH consultants will be sharing their creations in this Blog Hop.  A thumbnail of each participant's creation is shown in the Linky list below.  Simply click on one to go to their blog post with detailed information.

And we all LOVE to read comments about our work, please 'give us some love' by leaving a quick comment telling the artist your favorite part of their project.

It is always difficult to choose a "favorite" paper packet, but this time Sarita is definitely one at the top of my list.  The fun mixture of bright colors and crazy patterned designs creates a very unique look.  If you like the look of cross-stitch and embroidery, the Stitch Wonder stamp set will be one of your favorites.  The card pattern was easy to create using a pattern from the new Make It From Your Heart-Volume 2, which is an essential guide for creating beautiful scrapbook layouts and cards.  Each pattern includes detailed blueprints, cutting diagrams, full-color artwork, and helpful hints for creating the projects.

You may have noticed a fabulous new embellishment on the card - those are Aqua Dots.  For only $3.95, you receive 108 adhesive-based enamel dots in three sizes and three shades of aqua.

Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas!
This Blog Hop is open for member of the CTMH Blog Boosters.  Please do not enter if you are not a member of the group.
