It's the Little Things (November SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  You can create your own unique flower combination using the many different stamps in It's the Little Things.  See all the images in the stamp set in the picture at the bottom of this post.

If you have come here from My Creations with Michelle, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

It was fun to stamp and layer the different flower pieces in It's the Little Things stamp set using colors in the Pathfinding paper.  After stamping, assembling the card was easy using Pattern #24 in Make It From Your Heart Volume 1.  A bit of Jute Ribbon and some sparkles add the finishing touches.

Place a $50 minimum order this month (November 2014) and you are eligible to purchase the It's the Little Things stamp set for only $5.

Now "Hop" on over to Maureen's Let's Give 'em Something to Scrap About blog to see her work.  Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas.

A Spooky Crafting Adventure

There is a Spooky Crafting Adventure Contest on the Make It From Your Heart blog, and this is the card I created for Creative Challenge 4.  You read through the narrative of this fun adventure with different options at certain points in the story, and your assigned challenge depends on which path you take through the story.

My 'assignment' was to create original artwork using the Scaredy Cat paper pack and the Scaredy Cat Assortment.  The adorable cat is a pewter metal shape from the Scaredy Cat Assortment, and the witch and broomstick are stamps in the Halloween Greetings set.  A sentiment from Frightfully Fun was used to complete the card along with some Epoxy Bubbles and Sparkles.  Card sketch is Pattern #25 from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 book.

Since Thistle and Sunset are the colors for Color My Heart Color Dare 116, this card fits that challenge also.

A Flowery Thank You

Spent a little bit of time in my Stamp Room this evening, and created a card combining Freshly Made Sketches (FMS158) with Color My Heart Color Dare 115.

The three colors of the Color Dare 115 are Sunset, Olive, and Outdoor Denim.  The base of the card is a textured piece of Olive cardstock from the Enchantment Paper Fundamentals package.  For the Sunset color, some patterned paper from the Scaredy Cat kit is used and the flowers from Have A Happy Day are stamped using both Sunset and Olive inks.  A neutral Champagne ink was used to stamp the arrow, and then Outdoor Denim ink was used for the sentiment.  Some of the Sparkles and Epoxy Bubbles decorating the flowers are also an Outdoor Denim color.  For just a bit more of a finishing detail, a strip of Bronze Glitter Trim was given a scallop edge by using the Scallop Border Punch.

This card was selected as the Ruby Winner for Color Dare 115

Handmade Hues (Technique Blog Hop)

For the Technique Blog Hop this month, we are sharing projects using the "Handmade Hues" technique tip found on page 66 of the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations idea book.   For this technique, use ShinHan Touch Twin markers to turn your stamped images into picturesque embellishments.

If you arrived from the Show and Tell, with Michelle blog, then follow along with the link at the bottom of this post to continue the Technique Blog Hop

Using several different colors of the ShinHan Touch Twin markers, some flower images and leaf images from the Pretty Petals stamp set were colored and then cut out to be used on this card.  The diagonal striped paper is from the Scaredy Cat kit, which is versatile enough to be used for more than just Halloween.  A bit of sparkle was added by using the Triangle Border Punch with a strip of Pink Shimmer Trim behind.  To complete the flowers, some Gold Bling Gems were added to the centers.

Please visit Wendy's My Scrapbooking Blog for another entry in this month's Technique Blog Hop featuring "Handmade Hues" tip.

Chevrons and Circles and Hearts ..

Combined three blog challenges for this card with a trio of patterns: chevrons, circles, and hearts.  CAS(E) this Sketch (CTS96) provided the basis for the card along with colors from the Heart 2 Heart Challenges Color Challenge.  And the birthday theme fits for Seize the Birthday Anything Goes Birthday linky party.

A simple birthday sentiment from the Belated Birthday stamp set was embossed in white on a base of Desert Sand cardstock.  Circles of Goldrush and Cranberry cardstock, along with chevron cork circles from the Pathfinding Assortment, Aqua Dots and Sparkles, create some detail along a strip of Lagoon Washi Tape.
