We Are Makers

Welcome to our Annual Inspirations New Product Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  The month of August means a brand-new catalog full of fun new products for your creative projects.

If you arrived here from JenRubio, you are hopping through our circle of Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects spotlighting new products just introduced for 2017-2018.

One of my favorite new stamp sets is We Are Makers, which includes four really nice "creative" sentiments.  These are perfect for documenting your stamping and scrapping days on scrapbook pages, or for sending a card to a fellow artist who enjoys paper crafts, knitting, or any other creative pursuit.  Watercolors were used to add a splash of color behind the sentiment, and a gorgeous flower pattern from the new Adventures Fundamentals paper packet was used for the background of the card.  .

Purr-fect Halloween (August SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  Whether you love cats, or Halloween, or both - this stamp set is perfect for you.  With different eyes, hats, and sentiments, you can personalize cat for any occasion.

If you have come here from My Scrapbooking Blog, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

For the first time, Close To My Heart is featuring a "Color of the Year."  And the first featured color, Sea Glass, is being introduced this month.  If you love the Sea Glass color, there is cardstock, ink, and even Glitter paper for you to choose from.  And Sea Glass is also featured in some of the special paper packs which will be available for the Holidays (beginning in September).

Instead of creating something specific for Halloween, I decided to just use the cute cat from the Purr-fect Halloween stamp set along with the fun sentiment.  Some watercolor was used to give the kitty a bit of color.  Using a piece of the coordinating Sea Glass Glitter paper, along with Silver Foil Tape and White Shimmer Trim adds just enough sparkle.  Card design is found in Make It From Your Heart Volume 2, sketch Number 25.

Place a $50 minimum order this month (August 2016) and you are eligible to purchase the Purr-fect Halloween stamp set for only $5. It is also available for $17.95 without a qualifying purchase.

Now "Hop" on over to Inky Hearts Papercrafting blog to see her work.  Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas.

Keep Dreaming

"Clean and simple" cards always appeal to me, and this week's CAS(e) this Sketch! (CTS182) is a really nice simple sketch.  Using a card base of Desert Sand cardstock, a bit of watercolor was washed onto some watercolor paper using the new Medium Flat Waterbrush.  An adorable turtle and sentiment from the Outback Adventure stamp set were stamped using Memento Black ink.  After stamping a couple of turtles onto a piece of White Daisy cardstock as a liner for the inside, the card is complete and ready to brighten someone's day.

Celebrate With Cake (May SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  Now you can "have your cake," but you can't "eat it too" because it is just paper!  With three different cake stands, several layers of cake, along with banners and sentiments, this is the easy way to bake a cake.

If you have come here from Papercrafting Princess, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

For my card, the largest cake stand is used along with three tiers from the Celebrate With Cake stamp set.  To add color to my cake, watercolors were used with the new Small Round Waterbrush that is available in the Seasonal Expressions catalog.  A fun confetti paper and a brushed pink paper, both from the new Calypso kit, were used to complete the simple card.

Place a $50 minimum order this month (May 2016) and you are eligible to purchase the Celebrate With Cake stamp set for only $5. It is also available for $17.95 without a qualifying purchase.

Now "Hop" on over to Snips, Snaps, and Scraps blog to see her work.  Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas.

Watercolor!

Welcome to our Watercolor Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  All projects will be created using Close To My Heart watercolor paints or watercolor pencils.  Both of these products are a great way to add some soft color to your stamped work.

If you arrived here from Show and Tell, with Michelle, you are hopping through our circle of Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects spotlighting watercolor.

After selecting the Pretty Simple design from the Originals Card Confidence Program, this card took very little time to create. After stamping a bird image from the Sunshine Birdies onto Watercolor paper, the paints added some soft color to the bird. Then the Watercolor was also used to "ground" the bird, and to add a bit of color to the edges of the stamped image pieces.  Papers from the Charlotte kit were used as color inspiration, and to accent the card. The sentiment is from the For Family stamp set, and works well with the sweet bird.  Just a bit of sparkle is found on the bird's head feathers, and with a butterfly from the Playful Puffies embellishments.

Please visit jd designs to continue along our Blog Hop featuring watercolors.
