Falling For You

Leaves are definitely a "sign of the season" and that is the current challenge on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.  Using a sketch from the Freshly Made Sketches blog (FMS310), Falling For You stamps and metal dies, along with papers from the Falling For You kit, this card reminds me that there is a chill in the air and it is sweatshirt season.

Find some time to create your own "sign of the season" design and share on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog!

Falling For You

To begin the month of September, the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog has a color challenge incorporating six vibrant colors for Fall.  For this card, I used five of the colors to stamp leaves from the Falling For You-Cardmaking stamp set with coordinating Thin Cuts dies.  The ink colors used are Toffee, Pomegranate, Sorbet, Canary, and Peacock.  The Pebble for the color challenge is both the cardstock card base and the linen look patterned paper from the Basics Fundamentals packet.  The card sketch (FMS303) is from the Freshly Made Sketches blog.
To play along with our color challenge this month, create your own artwork using the colors Toffee, Pomegranate, Sorbet, Canary, Peacock, and Pebble.  Then post it, and share the link with us on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog!

A Pink Elephant

Who doesn't love an adorable pink elephant?  This week's Color My Heart Color Dare #215 using Cotton Candy, Pixie, and White Daisy was a perfect combination with Freshly Made Sketches FMS258.  Using Cotton Candy ink for the elephant image in the Baby Zoo stamp set, along with a piece of Cotton Candy Paper Fundamentals paper, with a couple of touches of Pixie cardstock for some added pinkness dimension.  White embossing powder was used for the line of circles image from the Baby Zoo set, and for an additional dash of pink, some pink Glitter Tape adds some sparkle. Even though the colors are not perfect, the strip of glitter trim really matches the other pinks of the card better "in real life" than in the photo.

A Snowman For the Holidays

Inspired by the black & white of Color My Heart Color Dare #214, the Thistle and Pear were perfect for a 'pop' of color with the snowman.  The pieces of the snowman were cut using the adorable Cozy Christmas Thin Cuts die cuts and then stamped using the coordinating stamp set.  This is a really fun set to create with, and is available in the CTMH Holiday Expressions collection through the end of this year.

Using the Thin Cuts dies, the hat and scarf were cut using some patterned papers from the Penelope kit.  For the background, a great black & white paper from the Uptown Fundamentals reminds me of falling snow.  The simple card design is FMS #214 at Freshly Made Sketches, which is one of my favorite sketch blogs.

Share The Love

Welcome to our Share The Love Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  Close To My Heart has created this special stamp set so you can "share the love" this February and help support Operation Smile.  CTMH will donate $7 of the proceeds from each Share The Love stamp set sold to Operation Smile.  This organization provides surgeries to repair cleft lips and palates for children all over the world.

If you arrived here from Living My Given Life, you are hopping through our circle of Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects.

This week's sketch at Freshly Made Sketches (FMS222) was perfect to use with the Share The Love stamp set.  The typewriter is embossed with a mixture of both Gold and Silver embossing powder, and the sentiments are stamped using Cocoa ink.  Some pieces of paper from the Sangria kit and a bit of Shimmer Trim complete the card.

Since the bold colors of the Sangria kit are some of my favorites, this card is being linked up to the "Favorite Paper Pack" challenge for February on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.
