Scaredy Cat Thistle (New Product Blog Hop)

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  On August 1 Close to My Heart released their new Annual Inspirations idea book, introducing a fabulous selection of great new products.  The products in this book will be available until July 2015, and there will be two Seasonal Expressions released during the year with additional items.

If you arrived here from Wendy's 'Stamping Rules!,' you are hopping through our circle of 50+ Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects using new papers, stamps, and other produced just introduced in the Annual Inspirations idea book.

Thistle is one of the beautiful new colors available from CTMH, and it is paired with Slate for this card inspired by pattern 24 in the Make It From Your Heart volume 2 how-to book.  A large flower from the Pretty Petals set was stamped using Thistle and then a Journaling Pen was used to add a bit of detail around the edge of the petals.  This spunky patterned paper from the Scaredy Cat kit is one of my favorites in the new idea book.  For embellishment, a bit of Thistle Diagonal Striped ribbon was added along with an Epoxy Bubble for the center of the flower.

Even though the Scaredy Cat paper kit is designed to use for Halloween, four of the six patterns are not holiday specific and are great to use for any occasion.

    1. Thanks, Pam. The flower just needed a little something in the middle. :)

  6. I love it when a set is used "outside the box" This card is a perfect example of how our papers (although sold as theme specific sets) are not limited to that theme.

    1. Thank you, Terry. I always seem to look at the papers "outside the theme" because I am more of a cardmaker than a scrapbooker.
