Family Is Forever (September SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop.  This month the featured stamp set is Family Is Forever, with seven stamp images that are perfect for decorating your scrapbook pages.  See all the images in the stamp set in the picture at the bottom of this post.

If you have come here from the My Creations with Michelle blog, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

Even though I love the tree image in the Family Is Forever stamp set, I decided to use the floral heart image for a card.  In order to create the illusion that some hearts are in front of the others, a masking technique was used.  After stamping the center heart using Lagoon ink, another heart image was stamped on a piece of scrap paper and then cut out.  This was piece was placed on top of the stamped Lagoon heart so that when the Sorbet hearts were stamped, the ink in the overlapped area was on the scrap paper and not the main stamped image.  When you remove the scrap paper, the Lagoon heart appears to be on top of the Sorbet hearts.  The process was repeated to stamp the hearts using Flaxen ink.

After stamping the hearts, some Lagoon Heart Washi Tape was added to the top and bottom of a piece of Flaxen cardstock.  Two strips of Gold Shimmer Trim were added, and then the stamped hearts.  Some Gold Bling gives the card some extra sparkle.

Place a $50 minimum order this month (September 2014) and you are eligible to purchase the Family Is Forever stamp set for only $5.

Now "Hop" on over to 'Judy Faye's Place' blog to see her work.  Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas.

All Lit Up (Technique Blog Hop)

For the Technique Blog Hop this month, we are showing different ways to use the "All Lit Up" technique tip found on page 88 of the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations idea book.  This tip suggests using Glitter Paper on your projects for an eye-catching and exciting look.  It works for scrapbook page bases, borders, shapes, embellishments, and more!

If you arrived from Shirley's "Mom 'n Me Scrap" blog, then follow along with the link at the bottom of this post to continue the "All Lit Up" Technique Blog Hop

The beautifully detailed Noel sentiment was embossed using Silver Super Fine powder and then a bit of Colonial White ink was sponged around the edges for more definition.  A piece of Grey Glitter Paper frames the sentiment which is on a piece of polka-dot paper from the Snowhaven kit.  To add a bit more sparkle and shine, some Silver Geometric Washi Tape is used along with silver Mini Staples and some Silver Sequins with tiny Sparkles in the center.

Please visit Michelle's "Show and Tell, with Michelle" blog for another entry in this month's Technique Blog Hop featuring a the "All Lit Up" tip.

Chalk It Up ~ Stampers With An Attitude (Blog Hop)

"Chalk It Up" for the beginning of another school year.  This month, the "Stampers With An Attitude" blog hop participants are using papers from the new Chalk It Up paper packet.

If you have come here from 'My Heartfelt Sentiments', you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one, or visit each blog from the list at the end of this post.

The 'handwriting practice paper' image in the Teacher Appreciation set is stamped using Glacier ink as a reminder of elementary school.  Glacier is one of the five new colors being introduced by CTMH.  Another new color, Flaxen, is used for the card base, and an arrow patterned paper from Chalk It Up unites the colors.  Simple flowers images from the Have a Happy Day stamp set are highlighted with some tan Sparkles.  An arrow charm, available with the Signature Base & Bling Charms, coordinates perfectly with the arrow paper.

Now "Hop" on over to 'Debbie Andrews' for more "Chalk It Up" fun.

Scaredy Cat Thistle (New Product Blog Hop)

Welcome to our New Product Blog Hop, brought to you by the same ladies who participate in the monthly Stamp-of-the-Month Blog Hop.  On August 1 Close to My Heart released their new Annual Inspirations idea book, introducing a fabulous selection of great new products.  The products in this book will be available until July 2015, and there will be two Seasonal Expressions released during the year with additional items.

If you arrived here from Wendy's 'Stamping Rules!,' you are hopping through our circle of 50+ Close To My Heart consultants sharing their projects using new papers, stamps, and other produced just introduced in the Annual Inspirations idea book.

Thistle is one of the beautiful new colors available from CTMH, and it is paired with Slate for this card inspired by pattern 24 in the Make It From Your Heart volume 2 how-to book.  A large flower from the Pretty Petals set was stamped using Thistle and then a Journaling Pen was used to add a bit of detail around the edge of the petals.  This spunky patterned paper from the Scaredy Cat kit is one of my favorites in the new idea book.  For embellishment, a bit of Thistle Diagonal Striped ribbon was added along with an Epoxy Bubble for the center of the flower.

Even though the Scaredy Cat paper kit is designed to use for Halloween, four of the six patterns are not holiday specific and are great to use for any occasion.

Please visit Catherin's 'CatScrapbooking' blog to continue along our Blog Hop featuring new products in the Annual Inspirations idea book.

Seaside Greetings

Created another card to share with the CTMH Blog Boosters Blog Hop, which features new products available in the Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations idea book.  A thumbnail of each participant's creation is shown in the Linky list below.  Simply click on a thumbnail to go to their blog post with detailed information.

Peace and relaxation is what came to mind when I saw this sailboat image in the Seaside Greetings stamp set.  For this 5"x7" card, a subdued patterned paper from the Yuletide Carol kit is used along with Sunset ink and Chevron Washi Tape.  A bit of Baker's Twine and some Triangle Studs complete a masculine look.

Be sure to visit all the blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas!
