A pink polka-dotted elephant - reminds me of Dumbo, which was my son's favorite movie as a toddler. The card is supposed to be "girly" which is the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for this week. And the card is designed using this week's sketch on the Mojo Monday blog (MOJO165).
The elephant from the Life's A Jungle stamp set was stamped using Chocolate ink on Baby Pink cardstock. Then, the dotted stamp from Spot On Backgrounds was stamped on top of the elephant before it was cut out. The Spot On Backgrounds dots were also used on some Baby Pink and Cotton Candy cardstock. The largest piece of Cotton Candy cardstock was embossed using the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots folder. For a finishing touch, some bright pink Sparkles were added to the punched border.
The pink & brown dotted ribbon was actually my 'starting point' for the card. From that point, I just decided to added dots to everything. There are certainly a lot of different dots on the card.
All stamps, inks, and cardstock used are from Close To My Heart (CTMH).
Every week, there are challenges available on different blogs. This week, I am combining a sketch challenge from the Mojo Monday blog and a color challenge from the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.
This first card uses stamps from the Childhood Portrait stamp set along with the three challenge colors.
Using the same sketch and same color combo, the Whooo Loves You stamp set was used along with Spot On Backgrounds for this card.
The Mojo Monday blog features a sketch design and encourages contributors to create a card using the weekly sketch and then "link" the entry back to their blog. This week's sketch is titled MOJO155.
Details for the Heart 2 Heart Challenge include the use of three Close To My Heart exclusive colors:
As you can see from my completed cards, each of the cards incorporates both the sketch from Mojo Monday and the colors from Heart 2 Heart to combine the challenges to create a single card. Then, by using completely different stamps, but maintaining the sketch and the color challenge, a second card was created to combine the challenges. All stamps and papers used are from Close To My Heart (CTMH).
This was a fun exercise - to follow a sketch and also be limited to certain colors. This is truly combining two challenges into one, and it was fun to see what I could create by combining the two challenges.
