Typed Note (April SOTM Blog Hop)

Welcome to our Stamp of the Month Blog Hop,  featuring the Typed Note stamp set.   Included in the set is a wonderful old-fashion typewriter, along with several different "typewritten" phrases. See all the stamp set images in the picture at the bottom of this post.

If you have come here from the If You Bling It ... blog, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one!

To give some dimension to the typewriter, it was embossed using Silver Super Fine embossing powder.  Two of the sentiments from the Typed Note set were then stamped onto the "paper" portion using Cocoa ink.  Cocoa cardstock forms the base of the card, with patterned paper from the new Jackson kit.  To add just a bit more shine, a strip of Bronze Shimmer Trim was used along with some Oceanside Sequins.

Place a $50 minimum order this month (April 2015) and you are eligible to purchase the Typed Note stamp set for only $5.

Now "Hop" on over to Welcome To My Creative Space blog.  Be sure to visit all the Consultants at their blogs to get some great crafting inspiration and other fun ideas.

If you get lost along the way, the complete list of participants is available on Melinda's 'If You Bling It' blog.

It Is Hard Being Green ~ "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop

The month of March means green grass, new green leaves, and St. Patrick's Day.  So this month, those of us participating in the "Use Your StashBlog Hop dug into our paper stash to show you that "It Is Hard Being Green."  You will see all sorts of "green" from our stash: paper, cardstock, embellishments, ribbon, etc.

If you have come here from Tmorrows Treasuresyou are right on track for the "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop.  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one, or visit each blog from the list at the end of this post.

Since we are celebrating the color "green" during the month of March, daffodils were the perfect choice.  I always enjoy seeing the new buds appear out of the ground each Spring, and the beautiful yellow flowers.  Using A Little Note stamp set, the image was stamped using Black ink.  Then three shades of yellow and three shades of green ShinHan Touch Twin alcohol markers were used to color the flowers.  Topiary patterned paper from the Adventure Paper Fundamentals is the perfect shade of "green" for Springtime.  A strip of White Shimmer Trim was added along with a piece of Topiary Chevron Ribbon.  The card sketch is Pattern #30 in Make It From Your Heart Volume 2.

Now "Hop" on over to Stampologist for more projects using our paper stash.
The current challenge is 'Green With Envy' on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog,

Picture My Life ~ Stampers With An Attitude (Blog Hop)

This month, some members of our Stampers With An Attitude team are creating artwork using Picture My Life cards from Close To My Heart.  The double-sided cardstock-weight cards feature journaling spaces, sentiments, and icons that are perfect for archiving photos and tidbits you want to remember.

If you have come here from Melissa's My Heartfelt Sentiments blog, you are on the right path!  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one, or visit each blog from the list at the end of this post.

This card took 20 minutes to create, no stamping or ink involved.  The longest time was just looking through the different cards available in the Chalk It Up Picture My Life (PML) Scrapbooking Program and trying to decide what to use.  The sentiment with the glasses really struck my fancy, along with the black with white dots PML card.  These are both included in the Chalk it Up Picture My Life Scrapbooking Program.  Each package of the program contains 44 4"x6" cards (2 each of 22 designs) and 78 3"x4" cards (3 each of 26 designs).  These PML cards are perfectly sized and styled for a quick and easy memory keeping project.  All of the PML cards have nice, rounded corners.  The CTMH Corner Rounder has the same arc as the PML cards, so it is easy to coordinate your cardstock with the same rounded corners.

A bit of texture was added to the sentiment card by applying Liquid Glass over the eye glass lens, and placing some Sparkles at the temple of the eyeglasses.  In order to give the Lagoon cardstock behind the sentiment piece a bit of detail, it was embossed using the Dot embossing folder.  This details coordinates with the pattern on the black with white dots PML cards.  Using that black with white dots card as inspiration, black and white Shimmer Trim were used to continue the black & white theme, along with a white star and black crystal.  Since black & white are always considered opposites, this qualifies for the Opposites Attract challenge this month on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.
