Sophia ~ Adorable 6x6 Scrapbook

Using a Sophia Level 1 paper kit, a 6x6 Memory Showcase album, and lots of Sparkles, you can make your very own adorable 6x6 scrapbook.  Believe it or not, there is NO stamping on the book - it is created using just the papers and Stickease available with the Sophia Level 1 paper kit, along with some Hollyhock ink.  It is an accordion-folded scrapbook that can be displayed open as shown in the photo, or folded flat.  Some of the pages have pockets with inserts that can hold photos or journaling.

Reserve your space early as there are a limited number of spaces available for this workshop on Friday, June 24 or Saturday, June 25.  With the $20 workshop fee, you will receive the Sophia level 1 kit, a 6x6 accordion book, package of Sparkles, and package of Bitty Sparkles to complete your scrapbook.

Front cover is decorated with another Stickease from the kit.  However, there will be some alphabet stamps available that you can use to stamp a name to personalize your accordion album.   

           

The Sophia Workshop will be offered on Friday evening, June 24 (starting at 7 pm), and also on  Saturday afternoon, June 25 (starting at 1 pm).  Allow approximately two hours to complete your project.  Please be sure to bring your favorite adhesive.  All stamps and papers used are from Close To My Heart (CTMH).  This adorable scrapbook was originally designed by Karen Morris, an independent CTMH Consultant.

What a Fanfare!

The stamp set included with the Fanfare workshop kit is one of my favorites right now.  It includes pieces of a cupcake, an ice cream cone, balloon, candle, and this adorable sentiment of "Let them eat {cup} cake."   When you purchase the Fanfare workshop kit, it comes with a complete paper packet, stamp set, buttons, waxy flax, and instructions to complete a 2-page layout and six cards.

Using different stamps from the set along with a variety of papers and colors, you can create an assortment of different cards, appropriate for many occasions and ages.

Using papers from the Sophia kit and stamps from Fanfare, this card is just so 'sweet.'  The icing is made using Glitz Glitter Gel, and adds a nice sparkly dimension to the card.  

Another card using the Sophia papers and the Fanfare stamps.  Now that I see the scanned image of the card, I think I will remove the three sparkles near the top of the card and replace with a pink bow. 

Using the same stamp set, along with Card Chatter-Birthday to create a more masculine card.  Cocoa cardstock was embossed using the Argyle Cuttlebug folder for the background of the card.   

Wanted something with bright colors, so used Gypsy and Pear for this card.  Unfortunately, on the scanned image the ink for the ice cream appears more blue, but it does actually match the purple Gypsy cardstock in the background.

Again, the Gypsy ink does not scan well.  The card really does look better 'in real life' than the picture.  The Traffic Jam Cuttlebug folder was used to emboss the backgrounds. 

Gift Card Holders (class from Creative University)

For the Card Boutique at Creative University, I designed three gift card holders and all the CU students really enjoyed learning the 'mechanics' of each card.  Now is your opportunity to create your own by attending the special "Post-CU Gift Card Holder" class on March 9 or 10.  You can click on any of the photos for a larger view.

The wonderful old-fashioned bicycle from Enjoy Life stamp set is used for this gift card holder made using papers from the Lucky kit.  Inside the card are two coin envelopes, which are the perfect size to hold a standard store gift card.  The second envelope holds a small sentiment where you can also add a personal message.

A simple 3"x4" card using the Paper Lantern stamp set and Sophia papers has an interior slot to insert a gift card.  Or make the slot just a bit narrower, fold up a $1 bill (or $20 or $50) and insert into the slot.

For the third gift card holder, papers from the Sweetheart kit are used with the Dreams Come True stamp set.  It is a bit difficult to see in the photo, but there is a slot with a thumb notch to hold a gift card.

The "Post-CU Gift Card Holder" Workshop will be offered on Wednesday evening, March 9 and also on Thursday evening, March 10.  The workshops will begin at 6:30 and you should be able to complete the cards by 8:30 or 9:00.  Since these items are a bit more complicated than the cards you normally create at a card workshop, you will make just one of each design.  The workshop fee is $10, and you only need to bring your favorite adhesive.  All other supplies are provided with the workshop fee.  All stamps and papers used are from Close To My Heart (CTMH).

As an added bonus, place a $50+ order from the Close To My Heart  Spring/Summer Idea Book - and your workshop fee is waived.
