For A "Magical" Friend

Enjoyed a fun "stamping day" with a friend today and created this "magical" card using the For a Friend stamp set and papers from the Magical kit.  Design of the card was inspired by Mojo Monday 458, which is full of layers and perfect for the variety of patterned papers in the Magical kit.  And this card is also perfect for the Magical challenge this month on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.

Happiness and Sunshine

Today's card was created following the sketch on the Mojo Monday blog (MOJO331), along with a 'love' theme for the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.

Patterned papers and cardstock are from the Laughing Lola kit, with a sentiment from the Give a Lift stamp set.  The arrows image in the background is in the new Flight of the Arrows, which is a great stamp set for adding interest to your stamped creations.  To add a bit of pizazz, some hearts were cut from Glitter Paper using the Art Philosophy cartridge and a piece of Teal Shimmer Trim follows the path of the arrows.

Outta This World Birthday

Outta This World is such a fun stamp set with an adorable robot, spaceship, rocket, and other images which can be cut using the Artiste Cricut cartridge.

Beep, beep:  this robot was cut from Cashmere cardstock and then stamped using Saddle ink.  A patterned paper from the Huntington kit is used to complete this week's sketch from Mojo Monday (MOJO328).  Inspiration for the card came from The Friday Mashup (FM142) which is to create a project with twine and a birthday theme.  The Baker's Twine that I used is actually Chocolate and White.  Since there was no other white on the card, Desert Sand Pigment Ink was dabbed onto the Baker's Twine before attaching to the card.

Inside of the card is finished with a the rocket and the fun "Greetings Earthling" sentiment from Outta This World.

Gingham and Kraft and Sparkle!

Hope you have a Holly Jolly sparkly Christmas!
While cleaning and organizing my Stamp Room a few weeks ago, I found some gingham ribbon which had been forgotten.  When I saw that the Friday Mashup! was to use Kraft paper and gingham (FM137), I knew just where to find the ribbon.  The bright colors are a nice contrast to the Kraft.

A frame for the sentiment was cut from Pear cardstock using the Artbooking Cricut cartridge.  In order to add some pizazz, two different colors from the Brown & Tan Glitter Paper pack are used behind the bright colors.  'Have a Holly Jolly Christmas' is included in the Frosted Cardmaking Workshop stamp set and was stamped using Cotton Candy ink.  Card is designed using this week's Mojo Monday sketch (MOJO322).

An Autumn Tree (Technique Blog Hop)

This is my first time participating with the Technique Blog Hop.  Each month, we will be featuring a different technique that you can use with your stamping, cardmaking, scrapbooking, or other paper-related craft.  Our technique this month is to use only cardstock, no patterned paper allowed.  If arrived from "Judy Faye's Place," then follow along with the link at the bottom of this post to continue the Technique Blog Hop.
To celebrate the beautiful Fall weather, this card uses one of the fabulous tree images in the Always Grateful stamp set.  For some embellishments, a bit of Baker's Twine was added as well as an Opaques Pearl Flourish and some Pearl Gems.  In order to add a bit of texture, the Swiss Dots and D'vine Swirl Cuttlebug embossing folders were used.

For this 5"x7" 'cardstock only' card, the colors used are Goldrush, Smokey Plum, and Olive which is the combination for Color Dare #69 on the Color My Heart blog.  The sketch is this week's Mojo Monday challenge (MOJO319).

UPDATE:  My card was chosen as the Diamond winner for Color Dare #69!

Inside of the card is completed with the tree stamped in the lower corner using Goldrush ink.

Just to show how different cards can look with just a few changes, this is the first card that I created for this 'cardstock only' challenge.  However, I was just not happy with it and decided to create another version.

Since the Heart 2 Heart Challenge this week is Seeing Double, the two versions of this card qualify for the double vision challenge.

Please visit Debi's "The Other Sister" blog for another entry in this month's Technique Blog Hop.
