Dizzy Circles

The new Dizzy Circles stamp set coordinates wonderfully with one of the patterned papers in the Hopscotch kit.  Using a sentiment from Holiday Tags completes a fun Mother's Day card for the "Mum's the Word" challenge at Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog and The Friday Mashup (FM208). Card design was inspired by Freshly Made Sketches (FMS185).

Christmas Colors ~ "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop

This month, the challenge for those of us participating in the "Use Your StashBlog Hop was to create a project using Christmas colors from our stash.  It can be traditional, or a more unusual color combo for the Holiday.   So you will see a wide variety of projects and colors while visiting each post along the Blog Hop.

If you have come here from 'NJ Stamping Queen', you are right on track for the "Use Your Stash" Blog Hop.  Blog Hopping is simple to do - just click on the link at the end of the post on each blog to move to the next one, or visit each blog from the list at the end of this post.

Using some patterned paper from the Yuletide Carol kit along with Ruby and New England Ivy cardstock, this birthday has more of a masculine feel than Christmas.  Images from the Holiday Tags stamp set were used along with the new Vine Embossing Folder and some Striped Twill ribbon.  The sketch is from Freshly Made Sketches (FMS167).

Now "Hop" on over to 'Scrappin Katy' for more projects using Christmas colors.

Base & Bling (Technique Blog Hop)

For the Technique Blog Hop this month, we are showing unconventional ways to use the trendy Base & Bling items from Close To My Heart.

If you arrived from Debi's "The Other Sister" blog, then follow along with the link at the bottom of this post to continue the Technique Blog Hop

For the Base & Bling wearable art, you adhere an adhesive image to a pendant then add a glass cover and chain.  Select your choice of metallic charms, acrylic flowers and gems to create a one-of-a-kind look that is affordable and fun to make.  This is a pieced that I created at the Rediscover CTMH event in Omaha last month.

But this Technique Blog Hop is showing you different ways to use the pieces available in the Base & Bling collection.  For this card, the same chevron piece which was used to create the pendant is used along with some other stickers from the Dreamer Style Sheet.  A piece of Ariana Grey is used as the card base along with Gypsy, Lagoon, and Hollyhock cardstocks which coordinate with the stickers.  A fun shape was cut using the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge for the Holiday Tags sentiment, and some Base & Bling Teal Jewels added for a bit of embellishment.  You may recognize this card design as Pattern #21 is one of my favorites from the Make It From Your Heart Volume 2 guide.

Dreamer Style Sheet
Each of the four different Style Sheets include 32 adhesive-backed 1"x1" stickers for only $3.95.

Please visit Joy's "....Wow....did you make that?" blog for another entry in this month's Technique Blog Hop featuring the Base & Bling collection.

A Colorful Birthday

For Color Dare #88 on the Color My Heart blog, the combo is Sunset, Smoothie, Lagoon, Sweet Leaf, and Buttercup.  Combining five colors into a project is certainly a challenge, so it was a perfect time to also take the Cricut Challenge on the Heart 2 Heart Challenges blog.  The umbrella shape available on the Artbooking Cricut cartridge was cut using Whisper cardstock, and then also cut using each of the five Color Dare colors and assembled to form a colorful piece.  In order to use the shape in an unusual way, it was placed on its side on top of a piece of White Daisy which was embossed using the Dots embossing folder.  A birthday sentiment from the Holiday Tags stamp set completes the colorful card.   The "sideways" umbrella actually reminds me of a butterfly wing.

A Father's Day Card

The three colors for Color My Heart Color Dare #86 - Ponderosa Pine, New England Ivy, Goldrush - seemed masculine to me, so I created a simple card without any pretty and sparkly embellishments.  A piece of Colonial White cardstock was embossed with the Cuttlebug using the Stripe Embossing Folder.  After that, a 1" hole was punched in the lower corner to create a window so that the sentiment from Holiday Tags can be seen.  Also punched a 1" circle with each of the three colors and added to the front of the card.

Since there are three colored circles on the card, this meets the "Triple Play" Heart 2 Heart Challenge.
