Aspire to Dance

 
Since my daughter is going to study dance next year at college, using the Aspire stamp set along with papers from the Wings kit made a great combination for her high school graduation 'thank you' cards.  The color combination of this paper packet is unusual, and very striking.  The dancer is stamped using Vineyard Berry ink, and the inside of the card is completed with a 'Thanks' stamp as well as a corner detail using Sweet Leaf ink. 

Tic Tac Toe from Inspirations

Since Close To My Heart is changing the schedule for their Idea Books and the new Spring/Summer 2011 is not effective until February 1, they put together an Inspirations brochure with special pricing for the month of January.  Inspirations includes a "sneak peek" at products that will be introduced in February.  The best news is that there is very special pricing on the five stamp sets that are featured in the brochure.

This card was created using the new A Game stamp set - which is available for only $5 with purchase of the new Wings workshop-on-the-go.  The patterned paper in the Wings paper packet is a great combo of designs with the unusual color combo of Black, Juniper, Sweet Leaf, and Vineyard Berry.  Also used to complete the 'tic tac toe' phase was A Little Everything stamp set.

Inspiration for the card design is from this week's Mojo Monday (MOJO172) blog, which was a challenge for me because I had trouble coming up with a sentiment that I liked.  What I ended up with is just a little silly, but thought it would be a fun birthday card.

As soon as I saw this stamp set, I knew I was going to create something using the dress form.  It looks great embossed using Mirror Platinum powder, even though the sheen of the embossing is not apparent in the scanned image.  The fabulous papers are from the new Wings My Reflections kit.  Using the great distressed papers, this card only took about 20 minutes to create.  It really surprised me how quickly it came together.
