You're One in a Million!

It is a "Flourishes Challenge" this week on the Heart 2 Heart Challenge blog, and they are asking everyone to share projects which incorporate flourishes.  

Found this lonely, leftover Opaques Pearl Flourish in my stack of embellishments and thought it was perfect to create a card.  The stamped image is from the For A Friend stamp set.  Colors used for this simple card are Saddle and Sky.

You Are ...

This adorable sentiment just makes me smile.  It is available in the Lollydoodle Workshop-on-the-Go Cardmaking kit.  Colors used for the card are Topiary and Goldrush, which are this week's Color My Heart Color Dare #82.  The Chevron Embossing Folder from CTMH was used to add some texture to the background.  A piece of Topiary Chevron Ribbon, a gingham button, and a bit of Baker's Twine add some finishing details.

A Feather Sketch

Made another card with my favorite new stamp set, Feathers.  

Used Sketch #138 (DS138) from the Deconstructing Jen blog as inspiration.  The Feathers image was inked with Lagoon and then 'rolled' in Saddle to add some dimension.  Once again, a sentiment from the Holiday Tags stamp set is used.  This is my most used sentiment set.  Holiday Tags has a great selection of sentiments, and is a "must have" stamp set for any card maker.  To add just a bit of texture behind the stamped image, a piece of patterned paper from the Skylark kit is used.  Finishing touches include some strips of Shimmer Trim in both Silver and Teal, along with some Enamel Shape chevrons.  The large teal sparkle is found in the Base & Bling Teal Jewels set, and it matches the Teal Shimmer Trim perfectly.

Thanks Oodles

Needed a quick 'thank you' card for a friend, so used Deconstructed Sketch (DS137) for inspiration along with Color My Heart's Color Dare #81.  

A fun polka-dot paper from the Lollydoodle kit is used along with Blush, Sorbet, Juniper and White Daisy cardstock.  For some texture, the White Daisy cardstock was embossed using the Quatrefoil Embossing Folder, and the banner pieces were embossing using the Dots Embossing Folder.  The 'thanks' sentiment is from the Oodles of Doodles stamp set, and the 'thumbs up' and 'friend' are included in the LOL set.

Thanks For the Lift!

Riding in a hot air balloon is on my "Bucket List," it is something that I definitely want to do some day.  

Love this balloon image from the Lifting Spirits stamp set.  This 'clean & simple' card uses CTS#64 on the CAS(E) this Sketch! blog.  In order to get the pattern on the balloon, the image was stamped on a piece of patterned paper from the Ivy Lane kit, cut out, and then adhered on top of the same image which was stamped on the card.  Some pink Glitter Paper adds a bit of pizzazz to the card.

Washi Tape (Technique Blog Hop)

Showing different ways to use Washi Tape is the focus this month for the Technique Blog Hop.

Gold and silver is the theme for this card.  The balloons were created by placing strips of both gold and Slate polka-dot Washi Tape on a piece of White Daisy cardstock, and then cutting them with the Artiste Cricut cartridge.  Making unique papers to cut Circuit shapes is a fun way to use different colors and patterns of Washi Tape.  The balloon string image is included in the Artiste Collection Birthday stamp set.  To add another circle design to the card, some Whisper cardstock was embossed using the new Dot Embossing Folder from CTMH.   For some sparkle, silver Glitter Paper is used behind the balloon images and a strip of gold Shimmer Trim is layered above the gold polka-dot Washi Tape.
