On the CAS(E) This Sketch blog this week, it is time for CTS #53. I was so inspired by the sketch, that I created two cards.
Since the sketch included two diagonal lines on the card, I thought of using Washi Tape instead of a patterned paper or cardstock. The Ruby chevron Washi is from the Sparkle & Shine Washi Tape 3-Pack, which is available for a limited time only through the Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide. The Ruby Washi Tape is added in several rows, and then Metallic Silver Washi Tape was added diagonally from the opposite lower corner.
Stamping includes a banner and sentiment from Season's Tweetings on the front of the card, and a cute owl with a single strip of the Ruby Washi Tape on the inside of the card.
The other card is very similar, simply uses different colors of Washi Tape and the Illuminate stamp set, which is the November stamp-of-the-month. A Honey triangle Washi Tape from the Party Washi Tape 3-Pack is used with the same Metallic Silver Washi Tape that was used for the first card. Wanted to incorporate the row of hanging lights from the Illuminate stamp set, so they are stamped just above the Honey triangle Washi Tape. And a sentiment from the stamp set is included above the string of lights.
The inside finish of the card is almost identical to the first card. This one uses a strip of the Honey triangle Washi Tape to carry-through the design from the card front. A lantern image from the Illuminate stamp set provides a bit of light in the lower corner. Washi Tape is so easy to work with, and provides some nice variety, it is certainly one of my favorite embellishments right now.
