Washi and the Dream Pop! No, it's not the name of a band. Yesterday, when reading through some blogs that I subscribe to, the CAS(E) this Sketch #52 prompted me to go to my Stamp Room and create a card.
My creation uses the Holiday Tags stamp set, which has a coordinating shape cut using the Artiste cartridge for the Cricut. The design of the sketch immediately made me think of using Washi Tape for the dovetailed piece. So, I took some of the Cotton Candy Polka-Dot Washi Tape available in the Party Washi Tape 3-pack sold in the Holidays From the Heart Gift Guide. In order to give the Washi a more vibrant look, it is adhered to White Daisy cardstock. A strip of Glitter Trim on the Washi as well as Glitter Paper behind the sentiment image adds a nice amount of 'sparkle' to the card.
More texture is seen in the card base since it was made from the Dream Pop paper pack which was a CTMH special earlier this year. This banana colored cardstock has a wood grain look embossed on it. The sheen of the embossing just adds to the general 'sparkle' and 'shine' of the card.
To add just a bit more color to the card, a piece of patterned paper from Dream Pop was placed on the inside of the card, and is topped by a slightly smaller piece of White Daisy which has some Washi Tape with Honey Triangles on it to give the card a nice finishing touch.
All papers and stamps are from Close To My Heart (CTMH).
